HP Omnibook ULtra Flip 2-In-1 Intel Ultra 7 258V - No Power/Water Damage Repair

A customer recently brought in their HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 2-in-1 after it took a literal bath and completely died. This is a high-end machine with the new Intel Ultra 7 chip, but in that moment, it was just a very expensive paperweight with no lights and no signs of life.

Liquid damage is a race against time because it starts eating away at the motherboard almost immediately. We had to take the whole thing apart, scrub the internal boards to stop the corrosion, and hunt down a few tiny components that had shorted out. It is delicate work because these modern laptops are packed so tightly, but we were able to get everything back in working order.

The good news is that it is officially back in action. The screen is perfect and that Ultra 7 chip is humming along like nothing ever happened. It is a huge relief for the owner and a great win for us.

If this ever happens to you, the best thing you can do is turn the laptop off immediately and keep it away from the charger. Also, please skip the rice. It is a total myth and does not actually help. Just get it to a professional as fast as possible before the liquid starts doing permanent damage to the internals.
