Dell Latitude 7330 No Power – Fixed by Replacing One Tiny Capacitor

When a Dell Latitude 7330 with an Intel i5-1245U landed on my bench, it was completely dead—no lights, no fan spin, nothing. For the owner, it was their daily work laptop, so you can imagine the panic.

I started with a full board-level diagnostic—checking the power rails, charging circuit, and CPU power delivery. After tracing the fault, I found the troublemaker: a tiny capacitor that had failed short and was blocking the whole system from turning on.

It’s always amazing how something so small can stop an entire laptop in its tracks. I carefully removed the bad capacitor, soldered in a quality replacement, and powered it up… and there it was—the Dell logo back on the screen.

After passing stress and stability tests, the Latitude was ready to go back to its owner, saving them the cost of a new motherboard (or a whole new laptop).

If your Dell Latitude won’t turn on, charge, or even show a light, it might be a similar issue. We specialize in no power repairs at the component level—whether it’s a dead capacitor, faulty MOSFET, or charging chip problem.
